The City is ready to welcome thousands of local and international visitors for the Hollywoodbets Durban July, taking place tomorrow, 4 July at Greyville Racecourse.
The Hollywoodbets Durban July continues to play a significant role in stimulating Durban’s visitor economy and is recognised as one of South Africa’s premier lifestyle and horse racing events.
The event is projected to generate approximately R254 million in direct visitor spending, providing a major boost to the local economy while supporting businesses across various sectors.
The preliminary total economic impact is estimated at R880 million.
An estimated 45 000 visitors, including international guests, are expected to descend on Durban for the event.
Hotel occupancy across the City is projected to reach approximately 80 percent, while the event is expected to support the creation of about 1 270 jobs, benefiting the hospitality, tourism, retail, transport, restaurant, accommodation, entertainment and informal trading sectors.
This year’s theme, “Country Allure,” celebrates timeless elegance inspired by the countryside, blending rustic sophistication with contemporary African style.
The theme is expected to once again showcase the creativity and fashion excellence for which the Hollywoodbets Durban July is renowned.
Beyond the excitement at Greyville Racecourse, Durban offers visitors an unforgettable weekend filled with world-class entertainment and leisure experiences.
