FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CAREER EXPO CONNECTS LEARNERS TO IN-DEMAND SKILLS AND REAL JOB PATHWAYS
Hundreds of Grade 12 learners from disadvantaged schools across eThekwini are set to experience a life-changing moment at the Youth Employability Indaba and Career Expo.
They will be exposed to real career opportunities and pathways to a brighter future.
Hosted by the eThekwini Municipality, this high-impact two-day platform brings together over 50 schools, leading institutions, corporate partners, and industry experts to equip learners with in-demand skills, career guidance, digital exposure, and access to bursary opportunities.
Held under the theme: “Bridging the Digital Divide: Empowering Rural and Township Schools,” the Indaba places young people, particularly those from underserved communities and learners with disabilities, at the centre of opportunity, empowerment, and informed career decision-making.
With the youth unemployment remaining a critical challenge, this initiative directly tackles the skills mismatch by connecting learners with real-world career pathways and industry expectations transforming potential into possibility.
The Career Expo will provide direct access to education and industry stakeholders, enabling learners to engage, explore, and shape their futures beyond the classroom.
Members of the media are invited and encouraged to attend Youth Employability Indaba and Career Expo scheduled as follows:
DATE: Thursday and Friday: 28 and 29 May 2026.
TIME: 9am
