ERENO FIRES 10-UNDER TO TAKE EARLY LEAD AT DURBAN OPEN

The Jonsson Workwear Durban Open teed off today at the Durban Country Club with a blistering start, as young star Pablo Ereno surged to the top of the leaderboard with a superb 10-under-par 62.

Ereno, one of the most exciting rising talents on the Sunshine Tour, delivered a commanding performance to lead the clubhouse after day one.

“This course was playing firm and fast, and I’m really happy with how I managed my ball-striking and putting today,” said Ereno.

“It’s great to be in front, but there’s a lot of golf to be played.”

Now back in Durban as part of the Sunshine Tour and HotelPlanner Tour schedule, the Jonsson Workwear Durban Open has drawn a strong field of South African and international professionals competing on the newly refurbished championship layout.

The event runs from 19 to 22 February at the Durban Country Club, which previously hosted major golf action during the 2025 Investec SA Open Championship and continues to strengthen its reputation as a world‑-class tournament venue.

Spectators and golf fans can enjoy free entry, offering a prime opportunity to follow the action live along the scenic fairways.

Visitors can enjoy world‑-class golf, meet players, and soak up the atmosphere at the tournament village.
