MAYOR XABA TO UNVEIL MULTI-MILLION BLUNDELL BRIDGE AND ROAD INFRASTRUCTURE UPGRADE
EThekwini Mayor Councillor Cyril Xaba will today, 15 July, officially unveil the R71 million Blundell Bridge and Road infrastructure project in Shallcross.
The bridge and road were severely destroyed during the 2022 floods.
The completed project will restore a strategic transport link between Shallcross and Queensburgh communities.
It will improve connectivity, facilitate the movement of goods, and provide residents with easier access to essential services.
The Mayor will also give an update on the upgrade of the Southern Aqueduct water pipeline.
The R1.2 billion project is set to significantly improve water supply in areas such as Shallcross, uMlazi, Chatsworth and Folweni.
Members of the media are invited to attend the official opening.
