ETHEKWINI NEWSFLASH

PUBLIC NOTICE

REPAIRS COMPLETED ON THE SOUTHERN AQUEDUCT PIPELINE

EThekwini Municipality Mayor, Councillor Cyril Xaba, would like to inform residents and businesses affected by the reduced water flow on the Southern Aqueduct, following the detection of a leak last week, that repairs have been completed.

The leak occurred on a section of the Southern Aqueduct pipeline along Perth Road in Dawncliffe, Westville.

Water has now been reopened into the Southern Aqueduct system. However, residents and businesses are advised that the restoration of normal flow will take place gradually to allow the system to stabilise and for reservoir levels to recover.

Water flow will progressively increase as the network stabilises and the affected reservoirs are replenished to full capacity.

The Municipality’s technical teams are closely monitoring the system to manage the gradual restoration of water supply across the affected areas.

The Municipality therefore appeals to consumers to continue using water sparingly to assist with the recovery of reservoir levels.

Mayor Xaba thanked residents and businesses for their patience and cooperation while the repair work was being undertaken.

The Municipality apologises for the inconvenience caused.
