ROADS REOPENED FOLLOWING EARLIER PROTEST
EThekwini Municipality confirms that the roads affected by an earlier protest on the N2 near Chesterville and the M19 in Reservoir Hills have been successfully reopened.
Law enforcement and emergency teams responded swiftly to ensure the safety of motorists and residents.
Teams from the Durban Metro Police, South African Police Service, and the eThekwini Disaster Management Directorate worked together to stabilise the situation and restore normal traffic flow.
The area is now calm and fully accessible to road users, with Metro Police remaining on site to continue monitoring.
The Municipality thanks residents and motorists for their patience and cooperation while the matter was resolved.
