UPDATE ON SOUTHERN AQUEDUCT SHUTDOWN
Work on the Southern Aqueduct is progressing well, with Municipal technical teams working to complete the project on schedule, anticipated for tomorrow, 31 March.
Once complete, water supply restoration will begin.
The Southern Aqueduct was shut down today, 30 March, to allow contractors to carry out critical preparatory work for the upgrade.
Key sections are scheduled for commissioning from April, while construction continues on other sections.
Once completed, the project will significantly strengthen water security, reduce system losses, and improve long-term supply reliability for communities in the southern and central regions.

Central Region
Northdene 1 and 2: Farningham Ridge, Hillary, Malvern, Mount Vernon, Queensburgh, Queensmead Industrial, Shallcross.
Firwood Reservoir: Farningham Ridge, Malvern, Moseley Park, Mount Vernon, Nirvana Hills, Northdene, Queensburgh.
Ridley Park Reservoir: Coedmore, Farningham Ridge, Hillary, Malvern, Memorial Park, Mount Vernon, Queensburgh, uMbilo, uMhlathuzana, uMkhumbane.
Chatsworth 4 Reservoir: Arena Park, Bulbul, Chatsworth Town Centre, Crossmoor, eHhlanzeni, eZinyathini, Klaarwater, KwaMgaga, Montford, Moorton, Phumphele, Risecliff, Shallcross, Silverglen, Welbedacht East and West, Westcliff, Woodhurst.
